Ordered A New iPad 2 Case

When I purchased my iPad 2 back in March I also picked up one of the Apple Smart Covers to go along with it.  At that time in their store it was pretty much the only option available and I admit that I wanted to see how it would work in a day-to-day usage pattern.  After using it as the only protection for my iPad 2 for two months I have found it to be wanting in a couple of key areas.  First, it offers no protection to the back of the device at all and to prevent scratching it up I make sure to put it face down on the cover.  Second, I've noticed that it has started to scuff the side of the device where the magnetic hinges attach.  The former has kept me from taking the iPad 2 out and about with me as I do not want to risk scratching up the back and it wouldn't help at all in the event of a drop.  The scuffing was the final straw when I noticed it this morning.

I headed over to Amazon.com to look for a new case and spent a couple of hours reading through various customer reviews and a few review videos before settling on a case from Targus.  I just placed my order for the Targus Versavu 360 case.  Based on my research on Amazon and a few other sites this one seems to offer a good combination of protection and a cool 360 rotation feature that enables one to view the iPad 2 in the portrait angle while propping it up.  As usual when buying from Amazon I opted for a bit longer delivery time in exchange for the free delivery and it should be here by the end of the coming week.

I'll be sure to post some pictures and quick impressions once it gets here.
