Raleigh Pictures

Here's a link to most of the pictures I took today with my new Sony H-20 digital camera.  For many of the shots I left the camera in "Intelligent Scene" mode while switching to complete manual to compose a few of them.  The picture above is probably my favorite out of all the pictures I took today.  I also shot a one minute video at 720p but I've yet to look at it, much less upload it.  Look for that later on.

I am really liking this new camera!

I tried to comment on my other favorite-interesting pic but Flicker would not allow me to comment without either a log-in or something else. So here goes: Enjoyed the photos -- both daytime & evening shots --- of downtown buildings. I was surprised at the difference it made to snap a pic of that red-yellow-blue art piece with a gray-white building in the background versus the red-brown brick building in the background. To me, the art sculpture stuck out like a sore thumb with the gray-white skyscraper background. However, it was much more pleasing to the eye with the red-brown brick building background PLUS the art sculpture was in 3D perspective. Nice.

The picture above was taken on the ground of the North Carolina State Capitol building in downtown Raleigh. The sculpture sits atop the World War One and World War Two memorial and was taken with a Sony H-20 at 10x zoom from about fifty yards away from the memorial itself. The building in the background is the Wachovia building, about a quarter mile from the state capitol building.
